Prospectus Group was founded by Ben Gleason and Marcus Bouligny who shared a vision to empower communities with current and relevant information, tools, and research.

Marcus and Ben met in 2002 when they were both direct service prevention workers in the San Francisco Bay Area. When they first met, the two young men, barely older than the youth they worked with, would talk about systems that could make their work easier and improve the system as a whole.

Prospectus Group launched with help from the Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) to provide training to states and communities. Prospectus group’s teams become master trainers for the national curriculum Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST). The first version of ECCO was developed with one function: Track and provide notes on Technical Assistance events.

Over the years, we have assembled a team that includes experts in public health, database architecture, web development, project management and research. We have continued to survey our clients and improve our offerings based on technological advances and what is needed in the field.

In 2025, we lost co-founder Marcus Bouligny. We strive to make good on his vision by continuing to serve and innovate. Marcus’ sister Yvonne Bouligny joined Prospectus Group as Partner and Director of Business Services in 2025.
